One woman in the group, Kells Fyffe-Marshall, recalled the April 30 incident that left her “angry, frustrated and sad” after police in Rialto responded to the scene as the group was locking up an Airbnb residence they had rented the night before. Trump Jabs 'Wacky Jacky And Pocahontas' While Campaigning For Dean Heller In Nevada
In a visit to boost one of the nation's most vulnerable Republican senators ahead of this fall's November election, President Donald Trump unveiled a new nickname for the Democrat running to unseat Sen. Dean Heller. "Wacky Jacky," Trump said at the Nevada GOP convention, in reference to Rep. Jacky Rosen. "You don't want her as your senator." Trump's short Saturday swing through Las Vegas was aimed largely at bolstering Heller, who is running for re-election in a state Hillary Clinton won in 2016. Just before his speech to the state GOP, he held a backstage fundraiser for Heller. CNN

Campaigners Dismayed At European Internet Ruling
A means to an end, or an end to memes? Tech leaders and digital rights activists in Europe have expressed dismay over new rules they say could change the open nature of the internet forever — and potentially kill meme culture. They have been fighting against Article 13 of the proposed E.U. Copyright Directive, which would place responsibility for enforcing copyright law on websites and platforms, rather than individuals. Central American men separated from their children and held in a detention facility outside Houston are being told they can reunite with their kids at the airport if they agree to sign a voluntary deportation order now, according to one migrant at the facility and two immigration attorneys who have spoken to detainees there. Bernie Sanders Winning Converts But Primary Victories Remain Elusive
Their rock star had arrived. As the sun set on a sticky June evening, hundreds of supporters screamed. They chanted his name. They tried to get close enough to touch him. “You all ready to make a political revolution?” Senator Bernie Sanders, the Vermont independent, asked them last week, fist pumping, voice booming. Merkel Presses Over Migration As European Solution Fails
German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Sunday she would seek direct deals with separate European Union states on migration, conceding the bloc had failed to find a joint solution to the issue threatening her government. 'That's Just Not Correct': Former Trump Hispanic Advisor Fact Checks CNN Host On Immigration
Immigration expert Steve Cortes corrected host Fredricka Whitfield on the reality of family separation at the U.S. southern border during CNN’s Newsroom Sunday. The U.S. Border Patrol does not separate immigrant families who claim asylum if they appear at a legal point of entry to the U.S., Cortes, the former head of President Donald Trump’s Hispanic Advisory Council, said. Until recently, only the families that tried to come into the country outside a point of entry — making them illegal immigrants — were separated. Daily Caller

Young Republicans Hold Unique Space In The Trump Era
Robert Lee, Chelsea Magee and Colt Chambers are political activists who all sound pretty typical for their generation when it comes to issues like immigration and same-sex marriage. Lee, a self-described atheist, insists he doesn't "want to spend one dollar building a wall with Mexico." Magee, a 33-year-old in suburban Atlanta, says if you want to marry someone of the same sex then it's "between you, your spouse and God." And Chambers insists a "true Republican" shouldn't care about same-sex marriage because "the government shouldn't be so involved in everyone's every day lives." NPR

Trump Tweets, Hard Right Voters Hamper GOP Immigration Push
Republican apprehension over President Donald Trump’s next tweet and fear of riling conservative voters are undermining GOP leaders’ election-year struggle to shove an immigration bill through the House this week, leaving their prospects dubious.
