Woman On Bike Who Flipped Off Trump Motorcade, Sues Over Job Loss
What a difference a digit makes. In October, Juli Briskman, riding her bike on her own time, flipped the bird at President Trump's motorcade as it left Trump National Golf Course in Sterling, Va. And that single-fingered salute led to her losing her job. A photo of Briskman's passing opposition to the president went viral. Late-night host Stephen Colbert told his audience, "No one has summed up the mood of the country better. ... Long may she wave." After the image became well-known, Briskman identified her involvement to her employer, Akima LLC. The company forced the 50-year-old mother of two to resign, claiming she violated its social media policy. Now Briskman is suing Akima, alleging that when the government contractor forced her out it violated Virginia employment law. . USA Today

Fox News (Yes, Fox News) Just Exposed Scott Pruitt As The Ultimate Swamp Creature
Scott Pruitt has raced to frontrunner status in our favorite new reality show, America's Next Top Swampmonster. Like others in President Trump's supposedly swamp-draining cabinet, the EPA administrator was known as a big fan of flying first-class at incredible taxpayer expense. In one instance, he flew top-shelf from Washington, D.C. to New York—a four-hour drive—for a mere $1,600. But this week, we learned Pruitt had designs on being captain of this cabinet's Blue Angels, as EPA explored leasing a private jet for Pruitt on a monthly basis. It would have cost a mere $100,000 in taxpayer cash each month, according to The Washington Post, and so was abandoned. Esquire

Mexican President To Trump: 'Nothing And No One Stands Above The Dignity Of Mexico'
President Enrique Peña Nieto of Mexico blasted President Donald Trump in a video message on Thursday, vowing that “nothing and no one stands above the dignity of Mexico” and adding that the U.S. president’s main gripes were Congress’s problem, not Mexico’s. “If your recent statements are the result of frustration due to domestic policy issues, to your laws or to your Congress, it is to them that you should turn to, not to Mexicans,” Peña Nieto said in the message, according to a translation provided by his office. New Evidence Shows The Pulse Nightclub Shooting Wasn't About Anti-LGBTQ Hate
It’s been nearly two years since the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida, that killed 49 people — widely believed to be an act of aggression against the club’s LGBTQ clientele and “undeniably a homophobic hate crime.” There’s now conclusive evidence that the shooter wasn’t intending to target LGBTQ people at all.
