Evidence Linking Vegas Shooter To Antifa
Stories claiming that the Las Vegas shooter was linked to antifa, a loosely organized group of anti-fascist activists, are proliferating online. But his purported links to antifa are either false, fabricated or unsubstantiated. Authorities have identified Stephen Craig Paddock, 64, of Mesquite, Nevada, as the shooter who opened fire on a crowd of more than 22,000 from his 32nd-floor hotel room at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on Oct. 1, killing 59 people and injuring more than 500. Says Trump's Threats Could Put The Nation 'On The Path To World War III'
Sunday in a New York Times interview, Corker said Trump was treating the presidency like a reality show, and could set the nation "on the path to World War III." In what has been widely perceived as an effort to save face, Trump claimed that Corker had "begged" the president to endorse him for re-election, but that Trump had turned him down. According to the president, that refusal is what ultimately led to the high-ranking senator's September announcement that he would not seek another term. NPR

Wildfires In Napa And Sonoma Counties Burn Structures, Force Evacuations
Several massive wildfires were burning out of control in Napa and Sonoma counties early Monday morning, forcing evacuations of neighborhoods and at least one Wine Country resort as firefighters sought to halt the advance of the infernos amid high winds. Images of flames racing across fields and freeways and skies filling with embers and ash emerged as the National Weather Service said the blazes — which caused power outages and blanketed much of the Bay Area in smoke — were fanned by strong and dry northeast winds. Corker Joins Long List Of Republican Senators President Trump Has Attacked
President Trump once again showed this weekend that when it comes to attacking political opponents, he is bipartisan. His twitter dustup with fellow Republican Bob Corker in response to the Tennessee senator's criticism of the president's sometimes erratic behavior would appear to further imperil Trump's legislative agenda. With a narrow Republican margin of 52 to 48 in the Senate, you'd expect Trump would be trying to curry favor within the GOP caucus. USA Today

Wine Country Wildfires Kill At Least 10, Force Tens Of Thousands To Evacuate
Several raging wind-whipped fires killed at least 10 people and forced massive evacuations Monday in the area around California's world-famous wine country, as Gov. Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency and officials estimated at least 1,500 homes and commercial buildings were destroyed. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection Director Ken Pimlott said an estimated 20,000 people have been evacuated as 14 large fires are zero percent contained. The fires are burning throughout an eight-county swath of Northern California, including Napa, Sonoma and Yuba counties. Fox News

Trump Slams Ivana For Calling Herself First Lady
First lady Melania Trump's office fired back at President Trump's ex-wife Ivana on Monday after she boasted of her access to the White House and even referred to herself as the real "first lady." In an interview with “Good Morning America” to promote her new book “Raising Trump,” Ivana Trump said she and the president speak “about once every 14 days.” “I have the direct number to White House, but I [don't] really want to call him there because Melania is there,” she said. “I don’t want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that because I’m basically first Trump wife.” She added with a laugh: “I’m first lady, okay?” But Melania Trump’s office said there “is clearly no substance to this statement from an ex.” Fox

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones will not tolerate any players kneeling during the national anthem. Jones said after Sunday's loss to the Green Bay Packers that anyone who "disrespects the flag" won't be allowed to play, per Mike Finger of the San Antonio Express-News. "We cannot in any way give the implication that we tolerate disrespecting the flag," Jones added, per Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News. 'Unburdened,' Trump 'Not Finished:' Inside The Republican Feud Roiling
Sen. Bob Corker's willingness to repeatedly drop a verbal hammer on President Donald Trump's fitness for office isn't a strategy likely to spread -- or be appreciated -- by his colleagues on Capitol Hill, several senior Republican aides and outside advisers told CNN. Spat Complicates Drive For Tax Reform In U.S. Senate
A public feud between U.S. President Donald Trump and Senate Republican maverick Bob Corker could narrow the path for tax reform in the U.S. Senate, where a Republican go-it-alone effort is already showing signs of disunity. Days after the Republican-controlled Congress took two important steps toward advancing tax legislation, a Trump-Corker shouting match threatened to further alienate Trump from key Republican senators such as John McCain, who prevented the party earlier this year from repealing Obamacare. Corker Was A Trump Enabler Until He Saw A Chance Of Global War
During the wild 2016 presidential campaign, Donald Trump often treated his supporters to a dramatic reading of song lyrics. “You knew damn well I was a snake before you took me in,” the GOP nominee liked to say in front of thousands of adoring fans. “Take me in, tender woman. Erin Burnett Knocks Democratic Leaders Over Weinstein Silence: ‘That’s
CNN’s Erin Burnett has some questions about why Barack Obama and other prominent Democrats are not turning out in force to denounce Harvey Weinstein over his sexual harassment scandal. Maria Cardona argued that Democrats haven’t tried to defend Weinstein’s behavior, and party leaders like Hillary Clinton can choose what to talk about since she’s no longer in public office. Cardona also panned RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel for dismissing the notion that President Trump‘s sexual controversies have any similarity to Weinstein. Google News

See Budget Fight As Chance To Force Trump's Hand On 'Dreamers'
While Democrats and immigration advocates recoiled at hard-line immigration proposals unveiled this week by the White House, they see a chance to force Republicans’ hand on legislation to help young “Dreamers” brought to the country illegally as children. Their focus? A spending bill that Congress will need to pass in December in order to keep the U.S. government open. Republicans, who control both houses of Congress, may need Democratic votes to approve the legislation because of divisions within their party over fiscal restraint. Democrats are considering insisting on help for the Dreamers as their price for providing the votes that may be required to prevent a government shutdown. Republican President Donald Trump ended the Obama-era DACA program last month that protected the Dreamers, and gave Congress six months to find a solution. Reuters
