Almost half of Muslim Americans support the terror group Hamas, while views of Israelis have soured since 2022 amongst Republicans and Democrats, a bombshell new poll found. Fools!
The startling survey also found that young Americans of all religions are now far more likely to hold favorable views of Palestinians over Israelis, marking a drastic change since Hamas’ deadly Oct. 7 rampage. Some 44% of Muslim American respondents expressed a favorable opinion of the terror group, compared to 17% of black Protestants, just 4% of white evangelical Protestants, and 8% of Catholics, according to a Pew Research Center survey published Thursday.
Meanwhile, only 26% of Muslim Americans had a favorable view of the Israeli people, compared to 74% of white evangelical Protestants, 51% of Catholics, and 55% of black Protestants, the results revealed. The survey was met with disgust by many prominent Muslims online. “Most of these losers who express approval for Hamas never lived under an authoritarian and tyrannical government like Hamas,” British-Palestinian writer John Aziz wrote on X. “This is absolutely delusional behaviour for them to support Hamas. Performative clowns.”
The findings were similar to those of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, according to Muslim scholar Hussain Abdul-Hussain, research fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. “Pew poll showing 44 percent of Muslims in America support Hamas squares with Palestinian polls, as surveyed by the Palestinian PCPSR [Center for Polling and Survey Research],” Hussain, who authored “The Arab Case for Israel,” wrote on X. Given Pew’s numbers on Muslim American support of Hamas and PCPSR’s numbers on Palestinian opposition to two state, support of Hamas and October 7, the question … is. … How can Israel make peace with a Muslim population whose majority rejects it?” he added. Another Muslim X user, Maliq, claimed that the issue wasn’t so simple.
“Some Muslims support Hamas because they see them as a resistance group fighting against what they view as oppression and occupation,” he wrote on X. ‘That’s the reason behind their support, even though others strongly disagree with Hamas’ actions and methods.” In the Big Apple, Cab driver Ali Muhammed, who sat outside the Aasafa Islamic Center on the Lower East Side on Thursday, was dismissive of Hamas. “We want that war [in Gaza] to be stopped. We want all wars to be over,” the 55-year-old Muhammed, who is originally from Sudan, said.
